Tidewater Soaring Foundation Scholarship

The Tidewater Soaring Foundation (TSF) grants three scholarships annually to individuals 14-22 for flight training leading toward solo flight in a glider. Flight training will be conducted by the Tidewater Soaring Society at the Garner Airport in Isle of Wight County. The scholarship includes 35 instructional flights, study materials, and membership in both the Soaring Society of America and the Tidewater Soaring Society for the duration of the scholarship period (up to one year). Scholarship recipients will be expected to fly at least two days per month; flight operations are conducted primarily on weekends. The scholarship period will commence June 1 and ends when all flights (limited to 35) have been completed. All flights must be completed within one year. Applications will be judged on interest in aviation and financial need by an independent panel of aviation experts.
